Paul Herrmann

Paul Herrmann is a photographer and the director of Redeye, the Photography Network. He has been a freelance editorial photographer since the mid 1980s, specialising in social issues and the arts. In the late 1990s he helped start Redeye, and as its director since 2003 built it to the largest and most successful professional development network for photographers in the UK. Through Redeye he helped set up Photomobile, the travelling photography centre, the Look series of festivals in Liverpool and Manchester, the career development programme Lightbox, and the National Photography Symposium. He recently set up the Northern Photography Consortium, and is working on a project to foster collaborations in the arts. He is also the chair of the British Photographic Council, the umbrella body for UK photography trade associations. He talks and writes on a range of business and professional issues in photography.
